The Japanese Sumo Team, including the World Sumo Champion, performed sumo lectures, demonstrations, and sumo training at universities and high schools throughout Southern California. Over 12,000 students watched the sumo demonstrations, and asked questions to the visitors from Japan. This tour was one of the most far-reaching educational tours about sumo ever in U.S. schools.
