Svetoslav Binev Byambajav Ulambayar Bayanbat Davaadalai

Byambajav Ulambayar
was recruited in Mongolia at age 15 by a visiting Japanese sumo master, and accepted an invitation to enter professional Japanese sumo a few months later. Under the “shikona” (sumo name) of “Daishochi”, he made an immediate impact, winning a divisional championship while still only 16 years old! He rose quickly up the ranks, and by the tender age of 18, Daishochi was the highest-ranked wrestler in his “heya” (sumo stable, or team). Daishochi seemed destined for pro sumo's very highest ranks, but just after turning 20, opted to leave pro sumo. He subsequently won the Mongolian Sumo Championships and then the World Sumo Championships for two years in a row! As the current (and two time) heavyweight World Champion, he aspires to multiple such titles in the coming years. Mr. Ulambayar is quite a hero in Mongolia, and is also becoming known on the international sumo stage, thanks to his dominance at the World Sumo Championships. He is currently undefeated in individual, international competition, with over 50 consecutive victories!

Bayanbat Davaadalai has been practicing sumo on a daily basis since 1999, and holds a sumo coaching certificate from his Japanese university, and a sumo referee's license. He spent five years competing in Japan, and achieved success on the international level, representing Mongolia in sumo at the World Sumo Championships, the World Games, and several other international events in Japan and on three continents. Mr. Davaadalai is a technical expert, and is enthusiastic about sharing his wealth of sumo knowledge with those wishing to learn.
